standard EMS 4.2.1.6

November 2015 Amended

Human resource managementComVida is very pleased to announce that EMS 4.2.1.6 is now ready for release.

We felt that we had to smooth out our new Tools just a little bit more so thank you for your patience, as doing so allowed for a few more fixes. These added bugs are noted in italics.

Browser Support Note

EMS 4.2.1.6 works well with Internet Explorer 10 and 11, Edge (Windows 10) and Chrome, however, Internet Explorer 9 is no longer supported. Please make any necessary changes prior to your upgrade.

GL Extract Tool

A new tool has been added to Payroll to simplify exporting payroll entries to your General Ledger Accounting Software. This tool replaces the Windows version of the GL Extract, HRGL32, that many sites are currently using to transfer payroll. With this new tool, the transfer can be completed in one step saving time and improving accuracy.

Please contact the Helpdesk for additional documentation and information on this tool.

Personal Time Clock

A Time Clock page has been added to the Personal Information area of EMS. It can be used to record employee start and end times without the need to purchase and install time clocks at each location.

This new page simply displays a clock as well as In and Out buttons so that when an employee logs in, they can also “swipe in”, and at the end of the day, they can “swipe out”. Swipes recorded through this new page will automatically appear in the Daily Attendance and Time & Attendance pages in Scheduling.

Please contact the Helpdesk for additional documentation and information on this new page.

Scheduling SPRs

Daily Attendance Updates

#1521 – In the Daily Attendance page, the Printer Friendly Version will correctly display when the Hide Processed Rows is checked, and all dialog buttons are fully accessible for easy printing or cancelling of the display.

#1661 – The Daily Attendance page correctly matches swipes from the prior or next day to the worked shift, even when the shift isn’t scheduling for overnight.

#1667 – Daily Attendance | Process Swipes – the Reprocess Employee button has a new label and added functionality to facilitate the processing of all or selected Time Swipes. For sites that import Time Swipes from third party applications this button works as the old Reprocess Employee.

#1693 – The Swipes add/edit dialog now defaults to the selected employee and displays their name and badge number.

Other Scheduling SPRs

#1604 – For budgeting purposes, negative hours can now be entered through the Shift Edit function.

#1664 – Rotations are now displayed with paging and filtering capabilities, allowing timely access to the data.

#1674 – Notifications will now pick up the earliest active assignment when adding a new Scheduling type notification.

#1676 – To improve response time, paging and filtering capabilities have been added to the Notification pages in Scheduling, Human Resources and Personal.

#1690 – When updating a Notification, the Originator will be included in the recipient email list.

#1701 – The Freeze and Unfreeze report will now print correctly when one employee is selected and that employee has a single quote in their name (ie: O’Henry).

#1710 – The Multiple Substitution tool now shows the selected Employee when the Add button is clicked. Of note, when you click Apply the tool will process and when you click OK an error will state that there is no employee and close. This is normal and can be avoided by just clicking OK.

Payroll SPRs

#1770 – The Alberta tax rate increases have been included in this release – please see the 4.2.1.6 Tax Update Version 15C release notes for further information.

#1540 – Custom Pay slips and Cheques are now supported. Please contact the Helpdesk for further information.

#1576 – The Calculate Period will correctly open to the report when it has reached 100% the first time.

#1600 – New! The Report Writer now has full access to the EMS Employee Type Block characters. They appear at the bottom of the Master Field drop-down list as “TypeBlock1” through “TypeBlock12”.

#1663 – GL Account fields have been added to Departments (DPAC), Unit (UNAC), Cost (CCAC), and Position (PSAC). These new fields are available as a Sort option in Report Writer to facilitate the new GL Extract Tool.

#1669 – Pay Slips will no longer show two entries for a transaction when the item is set to print in Deductions.

#1677 – Custom Reports are now an option for Payroll.

#1685 – The drop-down boxes in Payroll will display correctly when using Chrome.

#1716 – Pay slips will properly show all items when the last non-empty section is printed.

Personal Pages SPRs

#1589 – When viewing Scheduling and Payroll pages, employees will no longer see (or be able to select) applications to which they don’t belong. The list of applications will be limited to those to which the employee is a member.

#1676 – To improve response time, paging and filtering capabilities have been added to the Notification pages in Scheduling, Human Resources and Personal.
