These continue to be exceptional times, and our commitment to service and support of our clients has never waivered. We are seeing staged re-openings across the country and finally some relief for all of our front-line workers. While this round of Covid-19 outbreaks has created many challenges generally, it has been particularly difficult for those living in vulnerable circumstances and for those supporting vulnerable individuals. None of us are untouched by Covid-19 as it ravages the world.
Now, more than ever, while listening to the daily Covid-19 updates and the tragic death due to racism, I am reminded regularly of John Donne’s prophetic words offered in 1624, which I paraphrase:
No person is an Island entire to itself,
Every person is a piece of the community,
A part of the main.
Any person’s death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in humankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.
All lives matter. We will only survive these crises together, for truly we are all in this together.
